In 1971 I graduated from Sacramento City College with an AD in Nursing and got my RN license. In 1973 I got a BS in Nursing from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and began working as a Public Health and School Nurse—Hospital Nursing and shift work was not my thing. That’s when I began to realize how much I enjoyed traveling to new places—went to Rome and Israel as well as many places in the U.S. Still being single, I got a MS in Nursing in 1979 and moved to Salt Lake City where I began a job as a School Nurse Practitioner in Tooele. I got lined up by a fellow worker with this nice guy who was in a co-op program at Dugway—even further out in the Utah desert. We got married in 1982 just before he got his MS in Microbiology. “We” then got his PhD. He has worked as a Scientist for the Department of the Army in Dugway for nearly 30 years and will be retiring next May.
Not having much luck with in the kid department, we adopted two lovely children—Melinda in 1987 and Adam in 1989 who coincidentally have the same birthdate! Melinda will be getting her BS in Family and Human Development in December and is currently doing a practicum in Equador. Adam is currently serving a mission for our Church. While the children were still young, I gradually got a PhD in Family and Human Development over a period of about 7 years. I currently work part time as an RN for an Early Intervention program for children with development delays. Both Dan and I teach as Adjunct Professors for the Utah State University Tooele Regional Campus. They call us “Doc Martins” In 2004 Melinda did an exchange program with Tooele’s Sister City in Kambarka Russia which got Dan and me involved in our local Sister City Committee. Subsequently Utah State University colleagues and I got involved in working with early intervention projects with a university in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, Russia. Our family has traveled to many places in the world and find learning about and serving people from many cultures most interesting and rewarding.

Hi Marilyn!
Glad you have have joined us. Funny, but when I saw your name, my first memory was of having fun together in Mrs. Dines 1st or 2nd grade class:) I think we got in trouble for talking or laughing during class. Mostly I just remember that you were a fun person. How are you doing? Missed seeing you at the reunion.

Hi Robin,
You may remember that we lived in the same neighborhood for a time. Sorry to hear about the loss of your husband in such an unexpected way. My career was in Nursing so I feel a particular compassion for having to deal with such things. My husband says that I should attend our 50th reunion. I just might. Would be good to see you.

Hi Ann,
Good to hear from you again. You have done some amazing things, especially what you gave to so many children in need. Will you be at the reunion?

Hi Ann,
So good to hear from you. I remember that you were a kind friend which meant a lot to me because I was kind of socially quiet. Glad that you are doing well.

Hi Paula,
Good to hear from you. I grew up only 2 blocks from William Land Park. It was a beautiful park. I remember you as a friend, but remember your name more than your picture. 50 years is a long time---hard to believe that we have lived so many years:)

Hi Chris,
I don't know if you remember me, but I recognized your picture. You didn't live far from me..I was on Wesmead Court just off Mead Ave which was off Sutterville Road. I think we walked home from school together sometimes, even before high school. Good to hear from you!
