As I pursued the comments and those honoring the lives of our fellow classmates, I am deeply sadden to hear of their passing. The one nice thing is reading the memories that are related in the tribute to our comrades in education.

As we age, it hurts to see so many leave us. Today, I was looking over our In Memory section and noticed some of those who were close friends and those who acquaintances (just saying hi while passing in the hall). My regret is not getting to know them better. (I worked for a CPA during my time in college and one his quotes was “too old too soon—too smart too late”) Sometimes, I wished I could go back in time and get to know more of my classmates. However, I probably be the same dumb kid and not take advantage of the opportunity.

I really enjoy being reminded of the good times at California Junior High. The fun times in Mr. Lopez’s homeroom, sock hop dance in the gym, sneaking a transistor radio in the class room to listen to the Sacramento Solons, and working in the textbook room.

Moving on to McClatchy, it was the teachers that I miss. Mr. Simmons speech class, Mr. Murphy Physiology class, and especially history with Ms Caldwell. The most interesting class was Russian, although, I cannot remember the teacher name. Not only did we learn the language, but the history of the USSR.

To all my classmates, keep on writing about the carefree days of our youth. It great to be reminded.

To Dave Grandstaff and crew, thank you for this website. It is great.

All the best,

Ron

My French teacher in highschool was, I think Miss. Sturdevant.  I didn't recognize the other one people mentioned.  She gave us our assignment, and turned the class into a study hour, which wasn't very helpful.

Is Mr.  Simmons still around?

Re:  Francis Beddow

I just read about Francis Beddow, and got her address, but that was a few years ago, and I wonder if anyone has her current address?

I wrote a letter, to tell her about the Wahls Protocol - a great natural way to recover from Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinsons, etc.  It is actually a great way to be healthy or improve your health in general.

We weren't meant to eat pesticides and GMO's.  Eating organic is good for us, and for our environment!  There is more to the Wahls Protocol  than eating organic.  In case you are interested you can learn more at:

Hi Pam -- Do you remember our selling milk at the Cal Jr. Hi cafeteria in 8th grade?  Steffi

07/26/18 08:12 AM #137

Pamela Hall

Dear Steffi - I have no memory of selling milk at Cal Jr. with or without you.  I remember the beautiful Cherry tree in bloom in the courtyard, and the wonderful hand-painted interior detail in the entrance.  Lovely building.

Did we sell milk regularly?  Were we paid?

Pamela

I don't remember whether or not we were paid!  We had fun doing it.

Don’t feel bad: Some of my fondest memories have to be figments of my imagination. See you at the reunion.

Charlotte Adelman (Paliani)

I want to thank the commttee for the wonderful 55th reunion. I know it takes a lot of work and time to put on such an event. I had a great time and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were some there that don't always attend and some familiar faces that do...I was able to reconnect with some and it made me feel young again through the memory lane that we walked in...

I echo Charlette Adelman's comments.  Committee did a great job, was fun to see and visit with our old school mates.  So good to see all of us enjoying life.  Just wish we had better attendance, but as time passes that is to be expected. I also floated the idea with a few of the committee members that maybe we could have some type of luch gathering at a  local restraunt every few months for  classmates that are in the Sacramento area. Will let you know if something developes.  Thanks and Take Care...Bill Yeager

I echo Charlotte's comments; IT WAS A BLAST !

Bill has a great idea ! We need more events.

Given the reduction in attendance, some of it is obvious attrition, to be expected; Some of it I don't really understand, unless it's apathy. Some of us need a good kick in the ass; Reunions are only what we make of them, I and especially want to thank the committee for carrying on, making this reunion not only fun, but possible. More work than we know, and more than that, we need to let those on the committee know how much we appreciate their efforts..

To all the "maybe's"  You missed a great party !

Thanks again for a great time.

Jack

A great 55th. Thanks to the reunion committee for all their hard work and dedication to bringing this group together. It was fun to see old friends and classmates who I haven't seen in years. Also fun to meet classmates who I did not remember or know in the two years at the school. Alan Holmstrom thanks for reaching out and getting me out of central Texas for a weekend. Can't wait for the next event. Hopefully more will show to refernce Jack's comment. Let's all stay healthy and active.
