Comments:

I owned and operated a pre-kindergarten school until our own children were born. When our youngest was 12, I became a licensed general contractor and began to remodel and decorate business offices for mostly professionals. I did some other work too. If you remember my unusual clothing combinations, it was because I made most of my wardrobe. My love for sewing continues today and I make baby quilts with a matching toy once in a while for special customers. It keeps me busy.
My daughters are encouraging me to start a cookie business. I make a special cookie that people have been asking me to sell for years. I finally found a store here in Florida who agrees, so I'm going to start the business and let the girls run it eventually.

School Story:

I remember driver's training. There were only 2 cars that didn't have automatic transmission. My brother's car was an old stick shift. If I was ever going to drive myself, I had to learn standard transmission. So one boy and I volunteered to take those cars. The boy (I can't remember who you were) laughed at me all the way to the car. We both got in, started our engines and I jerked a little at first. He laughed even harder, pulled up beside me and stalled out. I eased the clutch by this time and pulled ahead nicely. No women's lib at that time, but it sure felt good to do something as well or better than the guys.

Dear Donna,  my deepest sympathies to you and your beautiful family.  I hardly remember a time living on W Michigan that LeeAnn, Bill and I weren't playing "kick the can" or some other game in the evening.  Our family moved away in the 3rd grade, and it was so nice to have a little reunion at North in junior high.  One couldn't help but love Bill.  He was bright, compassionate and a good friend to those around him.  I knew he struggled before and after our 50th reunion as he explained what a chore it was for him to email, but, he did so as long as he could.  I know how much he will be missed by you and your family and also how grateful you all are that his struggles and pain have ended.  May the Lord give you strength now.  Sending a big hug, Shirley

It was a wonderful week-end. We all looked so GOOD, didn't we? Thanks to the committee for making all the events look so effortless. You did a great job of planning. It was fabulous to see everyone and share stories. I haven't been back to Saginaw in at least 30 years. My old homes and schools looked great. While I love living in Miami, you have to agree, "there's no place like home." Good people come from Saginaw, don't you think? Everyone made sure I was included as a singleton (my husband stayed home with the dogs) and made me feel special. If you are thinking about coming to the next reunion, for those of you who missed this one, do come if there is a next. You will be glad you made the trip. Hugs to all!

Dear Lee,
Are you coming to the reunion? Ed Leib and LeeAnn Trask convinced me to come. My husband and I are living in Miami now. Would love to see you.
Hope you are well and enjoying life in Atlanta.
