Kirk Ryckman

In 1970, I married my DMHS sweetheart Debbie Walker. We've been married 46 years now.

Went to MSU for a BA in History (1971); Princeton Theological Seminary for a M. Div. in 1975; and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for a Dr. of Ministry in 1983.

I served churches in Wheeling, WV (75-79); Lower Burrell, PA (79-86) and Presbyterian Church of the Cross in Omaha, NE (87-15)

In retirement I have served 2 churches for 6 months (part-time), and am now at a small church in Bellevue, NE (near Offutt Air Base) about 19 hours per week.

Debbie and I have 4 grandchildren under 5.

I was only in Saginaw for the last two years of High School, but I enjoyed MacArthur. The only sport I went out for was wrestling. John Pritzlaff talked me into it (we were Juniors at the time)... then he quit, but I decided to stay. I just barely eked out a varsity letter in my senior year. But those were both very competitive teams back then (12-2 in 1966 and 12-0 in 1967).

Also in Chem II class someone (I can't remember who) worked with me, making some "stock-stock" (or highly concentrated) growth formula for an experiment with baby chicks. When the experiment was done - some of it went into the school pond. I remember Harland Stoner (a physics teacher and older gentleman) hear someone make fun of the pond a few months later, and he answered: "Oh no that pond has some big fish in it." So I guess a second experiment was successful with the formula...!
