I only recently learned of Steve's passing. I didn't know him well but I think everyone in our class remembers him running all around Salem. Man could he run! And run he did - I particularly remember him running near St Paul's Episcopal church. I also just learned (thanks to Jim Stuller) that Steve finished just behind Steve Prefontaine at the State Cross Country Meet in 1969. And, that was a HUGE accomplishment! As the memory gets foggier each year, I do think I remember a nod over the loud speaker for such an accomplishment. So sorry to hear of another classmate's passing. I hope we all join together for our 50th and celebrate the class of 1969 at South Salem High School!
