I lived with the Wallace's for a time during high school when things weren't going so good for me. Craig and I were close during those days and I was grateful to have him as a friend. As it turns out, leaving Salem right out of high school was the best thing I could have done because I was saved from the drug scene that got to Craig. I saw him from time to time over the years. but never suspected the damage done. At our 20 year reunion, I was only in Salem for the weekend but took the time to visit with Craig and his parents, and sister Carol. I was glad to have the time to visit with him then because he died shortly after that visit. Craig was one of those free thinking guys who you could count on in a pinch. I will always remember him like a brother.

I remember Craig as very mature and serious minded, and perhaps a little dark and fatalistic in his outlook on life. Maybe he saw some things in life I just couldn't see, at my age. Can't really explain it. Anyway, that's just how I remember Craig. But he was always nice and friendly, when we did hang out together. So sorry to hear that drugs got to him.
