Melissa Rocamora Jackson

After High School, I attended Hartnell College and decided I wanted to work instead of go to school so I bounced around a few jobs before landing at Harden Middle School as a Instructional Aide in Special Ed. For the next three years I watched new teachers come and go and decided that teaching was my calling and had this grand idea to teach high school English at North High but after doing a few subbing jobs at the elementary level...I found that I was meant to teach younger kiddos and so I have been at Sherwood School for the past 15 years and I love it! I taught kindergarten for 11 years and now teach 2nd Grade. While working at Harden Middle School I was reconnected with my now husband, whom I met through a mutual friend, and we resumed dating...11 years later we had a son and got married! I haven't left Salinas and for now we call it home! My husband is the Varsity Girls Basketball coach at North High...Go Lady Vikings... so I get to return to the old stomping grounds quite regularly! My husband also has a traveling basketball team that keeps us on the road and in the gym all summer long! And of course, Jaden keeps us busy!

Keeping Stats for freshman football and basketball ... Going to the Paragon and City Lights ... Cheer Camp at UCSB and UCSC ... Cheer Competition at Great America ... Bartles & James Wine Coolers ... getting into cool parties as "Corey's little sister" ... Hanging at my parent's house with Kim, Dave, Chad, Jill, Mark T, Adrian, Billy, Michelle, Joy, my brothers Caesar and Corey and whoever else happened to be there on most weekends ... and all the fun and trouble I could get myself into ... with and without Kim!
