Marelyn Seifers Nielsen

I married Kent Nielsen, a classmate in 1956 and we had 3 sons. Kent was in the computer business our whole married life. We enjoyed all sporting events, especially the ones our boys were involved in. All 3 played football, as their father had at East and the U 0f U. Our oldest also played soccer and was very good at that. We have 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren & of all 18, only 6 are girls. Kent passed away in 1997, way too young and he is deeply missed.
I have enjoyed many part time jobs, very fun ones. I was the director of Miss Salt Lake Valley pageant for Miss America, and also a hostess at Miss Utah pageants for 22 years. I was able to work with lots of girls. I also taught girls in church assignments and in community Education.

I loved all 3 years that I attended East Hight School and I was very lucky to be the majorette for the 3 years and cheerleader for 1 year. Those were the good old days, as I am sure everyone now looks back on as the very fun years. Raising our family has been the most rewarding but school was fun. And we certainly lived in the very best of times. I am glad we am not raising our sons now. I still have extra special friends from my high school years and I treasure those times very much. I was privileged to marry my high school sweetheart and we had 41 wonderful years together but he passed away way too soon. He was only 61 when he passed and has missed a lot with our wonderful grandchildren. And I miss him way too much.
