In Loving Memory...
William Dean (Bill) Hodges, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Uncle passed away December 13, 2023, peacefully with his loving wife Susan by his side in Lake Wales, Florida, after a long battle with COPD and heart failure.
Bill was born July 18, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Ward and Berneice Snarr Hodges. After graduating from Granite High School, Class of 1970, Bill joined the United States Navy, serving aboard nuclear submarines, USS George Washington SSBN 598 (G) and USS Daniel Boone SSBN 629 (B). He earned his Dolphins aboard the USS George Washington.
After leaving the Navy, Bill spent the next 30 years supporting the United States Military in various capacities around the world. Bill was a Master Mason and life member of Florence Masonic Lodge #107, Florence Oregon.
Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, motorcycles, and traveling home and abroad. He also enjoyed full-time RVing with Susan, after retiring from 33 years of civil service with the Department of Defense. Most of all, Bill enjoyed his children, who he was very proud of.
Bill is survived by his soul mate Susan, sons Scot (Seantee), Chad and Michael, daughters Lori (Phillip) and Ashley (John), 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, his sister Sharon Norager, sisters-in-law Colleen Hodges, Michelle and Andrea Tinnin, brother-in-law Doug Tinnin and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Ward and Berneice Hodges, brother Lewis Ward Hodges, brother-in-law David Norager, and father- and mother-in-law Harold and Marilyn Tinnin.
Bill’s family would like to give special thanks to VITAS Healthcare for their kindness and compassionate care. Bill will be buried in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL., date to be determined.
In addition, a celebration of Bill’s life will be held in Utah, with a location, date, and time to be determined later. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

You have hidden long enough. How are my long lost friend? Let’s see a new photo of your Jeep, you must have one.
I love your house in Ramona, CA. When did you and Kathy move to Springtown, TX? BTW, you share my daughters birthday August 30, 1974.
I remember Butch very well. We had some classes together. My deepest prayers and sympathy for your loss.
