Brian Lynn Hanks Brian Lynn Hanks1970 ~2004 Brian Lynn Hanks was born November 17, 1970 in Bountiful, Utah, the second of five sons. He left this life on September 27, 2004, leaving many heartbroken family members and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him fiercely. Brian attended school in Granite District and graduated from Granite High School. He was a hard worker, employed from the age of 14, often working two jobs, as a cook, massage therapist, security guard, etc. He was a dog lover, a gifted guitarist, and an aspiring writer who had been working on a novel. He loved people and people loved him. He was authentic, pleasant, honest, full of integrity, a true friend to many. He was 6'5" tall and his imposing presence lit up the room because his heart was as big as the outdoors he loved. Oh, Brian, so many people love you and will miss you. A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 1, 2004 at the Memorial Funeral Home on 6500 Redwood Road. Graveside services will follow at the adjoining Memorial cemetery at 2:00. A family memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel on the corner of 2700 West and 7000 South. Brian is survived by his father, Lynn Hanks, his mother Darla Isackson, stepfather, Douglas Isackson, brothers, Mark, David, Ben, and Scott Hanks, stepbrothers, Carl and Alex Isackson, three sisters-in-law, four nephews, and a myriad of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss him more than words could ever tell.
I remember him as a really kind and fun-loving person. Anyone else?
Big Bri was one of the best friends I ever had. I miss him every day and hope I will be able to see him again. I know he is in heaven, because he had the kindest, most true heart I have ever known. I love you Big Bri.
Brian was a kind heart, some good times in Green Vally, playing songs for Christmas at Moss. Jamming some Metalica when he was living up with Zen and Mike, a couple real great back rubs! I still miss him @ss*$% RIP.
Brian new how to laugh and have fun. He grew up 6 doors down from me, it is hard to believe he is gone. I spent many hours at his house playing Atari with his older brother, Mark, and all the other neighborhood kids. He would stick up for you in a fight, he did it for me. Almost every scouting/camping trip I remember as a kid has Brian involved somehow; pushing over trees, rolling rocks off cliffs, pulling some prank.
He knew how to have fun, and he had an incredible way to make you feel part of the group. He will be missed.
