Chalyce was living in Kearns at the time of her death, September 23, 2000. It looks like she may have been a physical therapist... anyone know more?

Our beloved wife, daughter, and sister, Chalyce Defa Taylor, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sept. 23, 2000, due to complications following a difficult pregnancy.

Chaylce was born May 11, 1971 to Lynette Defa Taylor and Fred Kingston. She graduated from Granite High School in 1989 and Salt Lake Community College as a certified P.T. assistant in 1994. Chalyce went on to practice physical therapy where she loved working with geriatric patients.

She was a courageous young lady who left her mark on each life she touched. Her unselfish and sensitive nature will be missed by all that knew her. She taught us courage, endurance, patience and love. After receiving a heart transplant in 1991, Chalyce faced many medical challenges. She was so grateful to have received a second chance at life to fulfill her goals and dreams, of which she had many. She accepted all challenges and never considered her medical problems a hindrance, but a challenge to learn and grow from. When physical endurance failed her, she was always lifted by her strong spiritual strength.

Chalyce was a leader and took the role of second mother to many. She was always thinking of others.

She leaves behind a husband, father and mother, special sister and best friend, Rochell Cervinski (Ben), who stayed by her side and comforted her when she was faced with another challenge; sisters: Ruth Taylor and Brooke Taylor; grandmothers, Donna Defa Judd and LaVenda Kingston, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by a brother, Harry Taylor and a sister, RosAnna Taylor.

As some know Chalyce was a very special person, shortly after she was married she was diagnosed with Heart Disease and required a Heart Transplant. She only thought of others and treated her husband's children with more love and kindness than anyone could hope for. She was taking transplant medication that prevented her from having children of her own. Her desire to bring a new life (her own child) into the world was so great, by her own will, (Not even her husband could convince her otherwise) she stopped taking her medication, and her heart gave out during the third trimester. She was a Great Example in everything she did, And we miss her deeply.
