Charlie passed away at the age 71 after losing the battle to a devastating and little-known disease called Multiple System Atrophy, (MSA) Parkinson's Variant, which changed his life forever. He was born in Salt Lake City to Charles Thomas Bintz and Dorothy Cornish Bintz. He graduated from Olympus High School and attended the University of Utah. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. He was a gifted athlete; he bowled, played tennis, where he earned the name "Roger Rocket", played baseball and skied. But his favorite sport was golf. He was a member of the Utah Golf Association. He once had a handicap of 3. He was a free spirit with a marvelous personality. He loved the outdoors and nature and married the love of his life Diane Gertino. They were married for 44 years.
Charlie will be greatly missed by his wife Diane, Mother-in-law Arlene Gertino (Mumsey), sisters DeeDee Richardson (Robert/Pokey), Martha Neerings, brother Brian Bintz, (Sheri) and many other relatives.
