Jolynn Burdette Little

1952 ~ 2021

Jolynn Burdette Little passed away on June 8, 2021, after a valiant battle against cancer. She was born June 2, 1952, in Ft. Riley Kansas to Joel Willis and Glenis Terry Burdette. Joel was stationed in Ft. Riley as a cook in the Army. The Burdette's moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah where Jolynn lived the rest of her life. Jolynn is survived by her husband, Kerry Lee Little; sons, Brandon Lee and Justin Lee. Jolynn is also survived by her sisters: Debbie Petersen (Kevin), Connie Wagstaff (Scott), and Marci Owen (Rusty); and many nephews and nieces. Jolynn is preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Glenis; sister, Heather; and grandson, Wolfgang.

Jolynn graduated from Olympus High school. Jolynn met and fell in love with Kerry, a ward romance that blossomed into a "can't live without each other" loving relationship. They were married on June 26, 1974, in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saints Temple. On June 26th of this year, they will have been married for 48 years. She joined the OC Tanner Company soon after high school where she worked for over 45 years. Jolynn was an excellent, hardworking employee loved by many of her colleagues. Jolynn worked alongside one of her favorite aunts, Janee Spencer.
Kerry and Jolynn along with their two sons loved the outdoors. They loved to camp and hike, and Jolynn especially loved to water and jet ski. One of her most cherished experiences were the times they spent together at Lake Powell where she was an accomplished slalom skier with amazing stamina. Jolynn and Kerry went to Lake Powell every year for over 40 years.

Waterskiing wasn't Jolynn's only love; she loved to watch the Runnin' Utes basketball. She loved to garden, play bonko, but her specialty was her cooking. Jolynn took great pride in the dishes that she prepared, ensuring the best ingredients were used with the best recipes. She was always sought out for savory entries, beautiful cakes, and spicy salsa. She is legendary for her Easter Bunny Cake and cupcakes.

Jolynn was a loving and loyal friend, starting with her sisters. Every year, she would go with her sisters to Disneyland, bringing home a commemorative T-Shirt (she has a few T-shirts!!). Spending time with family and friends was Jolynn's priority, she shared family celebrations, accomplishments, and even challenges with a loving and confidential spirit.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Ward located at 8435 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah. Jolynn, was my faviorite little sister cousin. Our mothers were sisters so as a extended family we would spent time in our family's cabin in Cardiff Canyon, Big Cottonwood. with all of us when we were sent to bed. We would sleep upstairs in the open loft.  Joiyann's Dad was a faviorte Uncle who would be willing to tell us ghost stories. He was topped by our other favorite Uncle Doug. Uncle Doug could really tell ghost stories that would make sleeping after he was finished telling his stories, very hardto do.  One reason was the cabin had bat's in it. The bat's would dodge around the loft just over our heads. If there were some stupid mossquitos about, that bat and some of it friends would be hunting the mossquitos all night.  I don't remember many mossquito bits. But we all remember the bat's.

Jolynn was great at women softball, Joel her Dad, was agreat suporter of all his girls and their sports.  Uncle Joel could also build anything. He didn't buy campers for his families trips, he built them.  Jolynn took after her Dad, she worked with making gold jewlery she had just the right touch to turn a lump of gold into something that some lucky buyer would treasure for generations to come.  Speaking of her Dad we all loved him, he was always there for his family and his wife's sisters families too.

I know Joe as I called her has, been accepted into the Celestial Kingdom with fling honors. She was very sweet with everyone.  I never heard a hard word leave her mouth, she loved everyone and everyone loved her.  I know I did, maybe it was because we are/were the same age.  She is left by her three of her wonderful younger sisters, each one just as beautiful as they can be. Marcie,Debbie and Connie are a good example of their parents love and caring.

So, Jolynn when you hear I'm dead, dig a hole and pull me through... if you don't I'm more that sure I'll be going down where there arent cool summer breezes. Just the opposite verry hot without any rest for the wicked (me).

Always loved you cousin, we always will.
