Karen Hillhouse Watanabe 

April 20, 1952 – January 7, 2022

 Karen Watanabe passed away at home on January 7, 2022 at the age of 69 after enduring a long illness. Born April 20, 1952 in Illinois to Ernest and Dorothy Hillhouse. She grew up in Salt Lake City graduating from Olympus High. Married her sweetheart Dan Watanabe, September 21, 1991.
Karen loved to dance and started taking dancing lessons at a very young age continuing into her thirties. She was an avid reader, always had a novel by her side. She had many hobbies including photography, beading, and gardening. Her real passion was working with polymer clay. She really loved her pet’s; they held a special place in her heart. She was very kind, caring and compassionate. One of her favorite sayings was “Another Panoramic Vista”.
Karen is preceded in death by her father Ernest, mother Dorothy and sister Marlen (Steve) Cundick. She is survived by her husband Dan, brother Richard (Shirley), and fifteen nieces and nephews.
