James Andrus Sundberg

March 3, 1952 — August 28, 2023

 

James Sundberg passed away on August 28, 2023, in Logan, Utah. He blessed the Sundberg family on March 03, 1952. 28 years later, he would then marry Kae Lynne Sharp on March 08, 1980.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Argentina and as a ward mission leader in every ward he lived in except the last ward. He graduated from the University of Utah as a pharmacist. When he could no longer work due to health issues, he earned a Doctorate of Theology from Grand Canyon University.  He was active in Boy Scouts and received the Silver Beaver award for his service. He was taught handwork by his mother and earned several blue and purple ribbons at county fairs for his embroidery and needlepoint.

He is Survived by his wife; Kae Lynne (Sharp) Sundberg. Sons: Kenneth Abraham Sundberg (Amanda), Joseph Fenton Sundberg, and Jared James Sundberg. We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, therapists, and aides at Logan Regional Hospital. They gave their all to help Jim have the best quality of life possible for the last 20 years during his many hospitalizations.

He is Preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth M. Sundberg and Gwendolyn (Andrus) Sundberg.  A wife: Deborah Franchow (1979), a brother: Gregory Paul Sundberg, and a sister, Wanda Sundberg.

 

To quote a nephew: Jim was a kind one and one of a kind!

 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Memorial-Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary at 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the mortuary at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Memorial Holladay Cemetery.
