Scott,
Thanks for you kind remarks regarding my book. Since I suspect you won't get my response to your post on my website, I just thought I'd say thanks here. What unit were you in while in the Utah Air National Guard? I was in the Civil Engineering unit. I went to Tech School in CA to learn Heating Systems, but when I got back to SLC, their heating systems crew was full, and I ended up doing "Job Control" -a bunch of paperwork.
Best to you,
David

John,
It was nice visiting with you at the reunion. Today, I met your sister Margaret and her husband at the Kiwanis Club meeting in Sugarhouse. I guess you're aware she's the Pres this year. Really nice people (I was a guest speaker at their meeting). Anyway, I just thought I'd say "HI" and it was fun to meet them, and figure out that we had a connection. I think she (and probably you also knew my Aunt Kay (Horne) and her husband Percy, and perhaps their children Stephen, Ralph, & Kathleen). They lived on K St just below 1st Ave. Small world eh?
Best,
David

Since a few classmates have inquired about my book (Science and Religion: Reconciling the Conflicts) and where to find it, I thought I'd share some info: It is available on Amazon (some nice reviews, and sometimes really nice deals, https://www.amazon.com/Science-Religion-Reconciling-David-Barker/dp/1625103794/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_til?tag=davidmckaybar-20&linkCode=w00&linkId=7MRLGWYWF6H4S475&creativeASIN=1625103794), some local bookstores and a number of internet sellers. Also, if you'd like one directly from the author (me) and hand-autographed, let me know and I'll give you a 1/2 price deal. It retails for $29.99, so $15 for old classmates (with emphasis on the "old" if you are anywhere near as old as I am) + mailing (in the US) $3.20 = $18.20. (And thanks go to Mrs. Mackay's Algebra class for all these parenthetical items.)
Robert,
Sorry I didn't get to visit with you at any of the reunion activities. Of course being a missionary now you may not have been available. I hope all is well with you You'd mentioned something about getting together some time. I'd like that. My schedule is usually quite flexible, so let me know when would be a good time for you. Maybe we could get together for lunch and even get Dennis Lawrence to join us. 298-1188.
David
Jesse,

Fred,
Nice to see you and Kathy at the reunion, and thanks for the nice organ playing. A talent I wasn't aware of in years gone by.
David
Kathy,
It was very nice to see you and Fred at the reunion and visit a bit. I'm glad your hearing is doing better too!
Best to you,
David
Randy,
Nice visiting with you a bit at the reunion, and thanks for expressing interest in my book. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it on any one of lots of internet sites like Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1625103794/ref=x_gr_w_bb?ie=UTF8&tag=httpwwwgoodco-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1625103794&SubscriptionId=1MGPYB6YW3HWK55XCGG2). If you'd like a new 2nd edition copy signed by the author (me) for 50% discount, let me know and I'll send you one. Best to you, David
Cathy, last night you mentioned memorabilia for our reunion tonight--namely that you had a bunch. I remembered that I had a few drawings I made for Technical Drawing and Architectural Drawing classes. If you'd like, I could bring them. May not mean much to those who didn't walk past Mr. Mecham's classroom and seem such things displayed, but will bring back some memories for those who did. If you get this message and would like me to bring a few to let you see if you'd like to use any, please let me know, and when you'd like them there (801 298-1188).
David
Ray,

Jared,
Just thought I'd let you know that nobody else has mentioned anything about the disc golf possibility. I'f you'd like to give it a try just for fun, It would be fun to catch up a bit. Let me know.

Kathy,
You are amazing. I've been looking thru a bunch of the profiles to see if I'd remember anything about any of the old classmates, and it seems you've posted something nice an more than anyone. Wow, that is really nice of you.

Rachel,
I'm still a meathead, but look forward to seeing you at the reunion. Where's a recent photo so I can recognize you?
David
Christine,
How am I supposed to recognize you at the reunion without a recent photo? (I can hardly recognize myself anymore when I walk past a mirror).

Jon,
I used to stand next to you in A'Capella, enjoy your East High Presidency, even some phone calls from you relative to our respective professions, but how am I to recognize you at the reunion, without a recent photo!
David
Hey Rich,
How's anybody supposed to recognize you if you don't post a fairly recent photo?
