Kay was one of the first people I met at Hillside jr.  We had moved the summer of 1960 and I started at Hillside  jr only knowing the cousin of a friend... Richard Higgins.  Kay was alway very gracious and she had a cute older sister.  I atended her funeral... Seems like at the last reunion she was getting rather frail. She always ran with the A list but was always gracious. We'll miss her.

When Kay died, our bridge group lost the nicest one of us all.  We all miss her so much.  Even when she started not being able to get around by herself, Vaughn brought her to us to play, or we went to her house to be with her there.  We couldn't stand the thought of not seeing her regularly.  She was always funny, upbeat, and telling jokes, and she was the one who laughed the hardest when she told one.  She was a joy to be around right up to her death.

At her funeral, Vaughn told me that he thought I might be the person there who had known Kay the longest, except for her sister, Janet.  He might have been right - I went to kindergarten with Kay, so had known her for over 60 years.  Jimmy Rogers might have known her a bit longer, since he lived in her neighborhood, but all I know is that I have known and loved Kay for a very long time.

She has five great kids who are a tribute to her and Vaughn.  I just hope that she and one of my other best friends growing up, Christine Cannon, are up in heaven making each other laugh.

I was shocked to hear of Kay's passing. I had the opportunity to treat her as a patient in physical therapy. I helped her to walk again.  She had an instable ankle that twisted upon weight bearing. Her ankle bracing aloud her to walk safely with a walker. Vaugh, her husband is such a great guy. He was at Kay's side every moment of the day and night. What a wonderful couple. I will really miss her. Love you Kay.

I just found out about Kay's death. I am deeply touched and feel a real loss and although we didn't see much of each other for the last several years, my memories at her home dancing on the patio, at dances, school spirit, her laugh, I can still see her laughing and hear her. She was and is a doll, one of finest people I knew and influenced me early in life. I had an early crush on her, but was not a match for her soul mate. She had such a purity as a person, one of the finest ladies I have known. Sorry for her family's loss of wife and mom and more. She was in life such a quality person, but in death, she'll show just how fine a person, wife and parent she continues to preserve what you all get to share together...eternity. Love ya Kay, thanks for the memories.

Happy Birthday to our lovely Kay, today.  Kay shared my son's birthday so it's easy to remember, but then she was an unforgettable person, as we all know.  I was out of the country when I got word Kay had passed away, and was devastated....I think mostly because I couldn't personally tell her goodbye, but have been dealing with that.  Her and Vaughn moved into our first neighborhood after we were all newlyweds, and Kay and I became mother's about the same time.  Some wonderful, tender memories.  My husband Rick and Vaughn became good friends, and Kay and I would sit and cheer at their games together with our new babes.  She always made me laugh, she had a gift.  Miss you, Kay.  Love you.....
