Kevin Krit Petty, age 38, passed away May 14, 1994.

Born January 24, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wallace Krit and Adeline Beckstead Petty. Married Cindy Lue Harnden, November 22, 1977 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was a sales executive for THB Inc. He attended Olympus High School and the U of U, where he played the trumpet, and was a member of Granite Youth Symphony. Kevin served a mission for the LDS Church in Oakland and Fresno, California. He was a High Priest, his many positions were Bishopric, High Council, stake young mens president, executive secretary, Elders Quorum president and scoutmaster. He was an avid scouter, at the age of 30 he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, Eagle Scout, a member of the Great Salt Lake Explorer Post Council, and was given the William Spurgeon III Award. A member of the Great Salt Lake Council Commission, Wasatch Peark Dist. Commission, E.P.A. advisor, E.L.I. course writer and director, Varsity Wood Badge course director, cub master, dean at College of Commissioner Service and Institute of Scouting. Served on Silver Moccasin Staff, received District Award of Merit, Order of the Arrow, 26 years in scouting. An avid hunter and trophy fisherman, loved the outdoors and camping.

Survived by his wife Cindy, and children: Emily Carole, Hunter Elizabeth, and Krit Harnden; his parents and sisters, Becky Lynne Longmore (Dale), Kristine Parkes (Steven), brother Keith B. Petty (Kim).

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at the Riverton 19th Ward, 13400 South 2700 West. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, and on Wednesday one hour prior at the church. Interment, South Jordan Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the Boy Scouts of America.
