Michael David Beal
11/24/1948 - 12/31/2018
Michael David Beal, age 70, passed suddenly on December 31, 2018 in Moab, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City on November 24, 1948, the son of David and Norma Beal. He is survived by his brother Dennis Beal, his son Chad Wyatt, ex-wife Teddie Beal, ex-wife Cydne Wyatt, and many others from such an amazing family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents David and Norma Beal and his brother Marc Beal.
Michael had such an amazing life. He loved to travel and visited many places throughout the world. Many people have shared great adventures they had with Michael such as canoe trips in Canada, Alaska, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Michael loved to fish which often involved float planes, jet boats, his canoes, and ocean charters. He loved the outdoors with so many great hikes, camping trips, some with bear encounters, and others where he had to be rescued. He took great pride in winning a recent golf tournament this past summer.
Michael grew up in the Salt Lake area, lived in California, Washington, Alaska, and most recently lived in Moab, Utah. Most of his adult life was spent in Alaska where so many friends and family came to visit and loved to spend time with Michael in so many beautiful places. He would often travel from Alaska to Southern Utah. His goal for many years was to retire in southern Utah and finally made Moab, Utah his home.
Over the past six years Michael struggled with debilitating afflictions but fought an amazing battle in trying to remain healthy. Recently, he became active again in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he found great comfort and support.
We would like to thank everyone who helped Michael especially the members of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, his family, the many friends who called often to offer support and help, medical professionals, meals on wheels, and his neighbors.
I take comfort in knowing Michael is no longer in pain and is now in a better place.
In respect of Michael’s final wishes there will not be a funeral. There will be a gathering of close friends and family at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah at 1:00 PM followed by the burial at 2:00 PM on Tuesday January 8, 2019.
