Gayle and I were cousins and we spent our childhoods together as friends.  Since we had the same last name, we were always next to each other in locker assignments, and we were next to each other at graduation.  After high school Gayle went to beauty college and I became her guinea pig.  She became adept at coloring and streaking hair practicing on my head.  My hair looked beautiful for my wedding because of her talent, and my mother and bridesmaids also benefited from her services.  Her first born child, a girl, was born one month after my first born child, a boy, I treasure the many pictures we took of our babies growing up.  Her family moved to California near Disneyland, and she and her husband were generous with us allowing us to park our camper in their driveway and watching my 4 month old son while we went to the park.  She was taken from us way too soon after a struggle with ovarian cancer leaving behind 3 young children.  I think about her a lot and miss her all the time.  I wish she was still here, then I would have somebody to go with and sit with at the reunion.
