Ken and I used to ride our scooters to school when the weather was good. We used to ride them all over during the spring summer and fall. The summer of 1965 we planned to ride to Flaming George and camp in Sheep Creek canyon. For no apparent reason Ken’s mother put her foot down and said absolutely not. We asked why but she couldn’t give any reason, she just no to the whole trip.

The Saturday we planned to camp in the Sheep Creek Canyon there was a flash flood that wiped out the campground, and killed seven people. Ken’s mom undoubtedly saved our lives, but there was no way she could have know what was going to happen.

The first time I used the Class of 67 web page I looked for Ken’s name and discovered he had passed away in 1997. It seems like 48 is a rather young age to pass away. I wonder if anyone has more information. I’ve searched the web and can’t find anything.
