Steven Richard Gardina passed away March 7, 2016 peacefully at home in Midvale, Salt Lake County, Utah. He was born August 13, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah to Fredrick Richard Gardina and LaRue Wood Leatham.

Steven completed Lincoln Junior High School in June 1959, and graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in May 1962. He married Michaele Ann McCarroll January 18, 1964 and later divorced. Michaele preceded Steven in death on January 13, 2012. They had two beautiful children together and remained friends for life. 

Steven worked in the automobile industry (sales, marketing, management, and consulting) for over 40 years. For 25 years he also provided international trade consulting via his company AMS Enterprises. He loved to travel to Europe and Asia for business and pleasure. 

He dearly loved, and was immensely proud of his two children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nephews and nieces.  Steven is survived by his son, Craig S. Gardina; daughter, Lisa A. (Louie) Gardina-Deckman; grandsons, Michael S. Page, Derek R. Gardina, Craig M. Gardina; granddaughters, Annalee N. Gardina and Melisa A. Gardina-Deckman; great-grandson, Aaron M. Page; sister, ReNae auCiel, and brothers, Gary L. (Mae) Gardina and Darold J. (Cheryl) Gardina. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick R. Gardina (d-February 15, 2013), mother, LaRue W. Leatham (d-February 29, 2016), and brothers, Brent W. (Brit) Gardina (d-September 8, 2005) and Mark A. Gardina (d-February 23, 1981).

Steven moved to Utah from California in October 2010 to care for, and to ensure that his mother, LaRue W. Leatham, lived her last years as comfortable and happy as possible.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Centerville City Cemetery, 650 East 400 South, Centerville, Utah.
