Dear old friend Frank,

What a shock to see an obituary for you in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. I was so saddened to hear of your very untimely passing. A flood of happy memories rushed in on me of the days and years we spent together at Nibley Park School, Irving, and South High. I have thought often of the fun and dumb stuff that we did as boys, the sleep-outs in your backyard, Utoco training school, pumping gas at your dad's service station, trying to ride our bikes up Mill Creek Canyon and on and on. You were a great guy and a super friend and a huge and important part of my youth. I have missed your sense of fun and adventure, your bright and inquisitive mind and the friendship that we shared; I miss them even more today. God speed, my friend, God speed.

Frank, my friend, it's hard to believe you're gone. Our days at South High School were better ones by far from your being so much a part of them.

I join with Gary in fond recollection of our formative years together at South High where you, Frank, with your unfeigned exuberance and generous loyalty, made us smile and reflect on the possibilities that life held in store for us.
