John Howard Telford, Jr. 05/19/44 ~ 11/29/02 Think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much. Until we meet again ..... Those of us who miss you.
John graduated from the UofU with Bachelor of Science, Political Science in 1967 and a Master of Arts, Management degree from the University of Redlands in 1982. He was honorable discharged from the Marine Corps as a Captain in the late 60's. He was employed with the Automobile Mutual Insurance Co,Corporate offices of Denny's Restaurants and then spent 20 yr's with Peat Marwick Michel. He was promoted through the ranks and elected Principal (Partner) in 1977. He became Rigional Partner in 1979 assuming responsibility for 12 western states. In 1990 John formed the firm of Telford, Adams & Alexander a management consuling firm. John also was a Adjunct Professor for Webster University in their Master's Program for over 12 years.He was a collage mentor at Coastline Community College. Teaching was something he truly enjoyed and with retirement on the horizon he planned to perhaps go into teaching full time.
John was married to Sharon Gudmundson, He had two children Brett Telford and Holly Telford he also had several Grand Childern.
John attended our last reunion in 2002 and was full of life and joy talking and jokeing about what he wanted to do as we neared retierment, that was the last time I talked to him face to face we had been the best of friends for over 50 years. His life unexpectedly ended after a brief illness in November 2002, he was put to rest by a Military Funeral. He will be long remembered for his special smile, his zest for life, and his ability to walk into a room and make everone feel good.
