Obituary
Kenneth Ray Barr, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the age of 73. Ken was born on December 3, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Russell O. Barr and Robana L. Barr.
Ken worked as a Field Service Technician for Pitney Bowes for 35 years. After retiring, he was commissioned as a real estate broker. Ken served active duty in the US Air Force Reserve, TX Air National Guard, and NC Air National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and served as a deacon for the Youth, Education, and Benevolence. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecuing, operating his amateur radio, woodworking, taking trips to the mountain cabin, working with his tools, and spending time with his pets.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Brenda Barr; his children and their spouses Stephanie (Joshua) Propst, Tiffany (Andrew) Martin, Kenneth (Jessica) Barr; his grandchildren Avery Martin, Heidi Martin, Zachary Propst, Elijah Propst, Aiden Barr, and Cameron Barr; and his sister Donna (Chip) Bueche’.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 10:00-11:30 am at the Gastonia Church of Christ, 1919 N. New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC. His Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by his lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Blaine D. Coffey, Jr. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ken can be sent to Gaston Hospice or to Gastonia Church of Christ.
