Steve Gooden Obituary

May 22, 1949 - February 12, 2024

Lloyd Stephen "Steve" Gooden, 74, passed away on February 12, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Steve was born in San Antonio to Sam and Joy Gooden. He attended Highlands High School and earned a civil engineering degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Professionally, Steve worked for many years in the construction and steel industry as a professional engineer and business owner, where he will be remembered for his intellect, passion for numbers, and mentorship.

Steve touched many lives with his sense of humor, kind heart, and giving nature. His fun-loving spirt naturally made him the life of the party. He and his constant smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his longtime partner, Linda Currie; mother, Joy Gooden; sister, Cathy Gooden; brother, Wesley Gooden (Tess); children, Christine Reinhard (Zane), Kevin Gooden (Heather), and Tiffany Clark; grandchildren, Brittani Chance (Tyler), Paige Clark, Colt Clark, Hailee Gooden, and Kooper Gooden; great-grandchildren Cody and Adaline Chance; along with many other extended family and friends.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on March 24, 2024 at 11 am at the Garden of Old Town Helotes. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
