David Alan Manny
February 13, 1949 - November 02, 2021


David Alan Manny, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home in San Antonio, TX on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the age of 72.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dayle Manny; daughter, Melissa; son, Mark; three grandchildren, Payton, Jane Frances, John David; brother, Max; and brother-in-law, Mike DeHart.

David was born on February 13, 1949 in San Antonio, TX. His parents were Frank Hermann and Jane Emily Manny. David attended Highlands High School where he played football. After graduation, he attended The University of Texas where he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. David’s 30+ year career span was spent as a Management Analyst for the Civil Services at Ft Sam Houston, Kelly AFB, and Randolph AFB.

David loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed coaching and spending time with his grandkids. He loved UT football, was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need, enjoyed taking long road trips with his wife, and watched FOX News every evening and was an active member at Concordia Lutheran Church. David really took pride in taking care of his family and he will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10:30 AM at:

Message from David's son, Mark:   I just wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away early this morning due to complications with cancer. He died peacefully at home. We don't have the service info yet but just wanted to let all of you know.

David Manny: Graduated from U. T. Austin, Bachelors Degree (BBA) 1973; Member of U.S. Army Reserve 1970 – 1982; Graduated from U. T. San Antonio (UTSA), Masters Degree (MS) 1981; worked for the Federal Government (U.S. Postal Service, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Defense - Army and Air Force)  beginning the summer after graduation from high school through college and most of his working life.

Margo Fuqua (Class Of 66) (Meyer)

Charles was very fond of David. He said he was always amazed by his wit, his demeanor, and his sense of humor. He will be missed by all his friends from the senior class of HHS "65.
