****************************

Isaac “Ikey/ Ike” H. Reno, born Jan. 9, 1949, in Falfurrias, Texas, gained his wings on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Family and friends were shocked at his sudden demise.

Ike met Paula Breed at Highlands High School in 1964 (class of 1967) in their homeroom class. This began their 57 years together. They married on Feb. 1, 1969. Ike lived a life full of family, friends, laughter, and especially fishing. He never met a stranger or turned down a fishing trip. They moved to La Vernia and fully embraced small town life and backyard nature.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. Reno and Ruth Salinas Reno.

He is survived by spouse Paula Breed Reno; his daughters, Leslie Reno Currin (Rick) and Cara Reno; his grandsons, Zack Currin (Karma) and Ryder Mendivil; great-grandson Braxton Isaac Currin; his sister, Marie E. LeBlanc and her daughters, Sandie Kidd and Melissa LeBlanc; and many other family members, too many to name.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 4 p.m. in the La Vernia Church of Christ in La Vernia. The family has set aside time for friends and family to tell stories of Ike, and all the fun and mischief they shared.

Dinner will follow in the fellowship hall.

Memorial donations may be made in Ike’s name to the La Vernia Church of Christ.
