Michael West

1949 - 2021

Chief Michael T. West, USN, Ret. (72) residing in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on May 12, 2021. Mike is survived by his wife, Kathleen West; his children, Camella Kaufman, Donna Davis, Caitlyn West and Maeghan West; his stepchildren, Lila, Denice and Melanie; and his 10 grandchildren. Mike was born in San Antonio. TX on February 9, 1949 to John D. and Myra Dea West. He graduated from Highlands High School in San Antonio. Later, he served 26 years in the US Navy as a Corpsman. He served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. Following retirement, he worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville Fl, for 21 years. No formal service will be held as he will be "returning to the sea" as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warriors Foundation in his honor.
