I have to share this with you. In one of my conversations with Gary, he said
Ray, you know when you pass and they write the year you were born and the year you die,
that hyphen in between the years is your life. It just shows how short life is, so do the best with it. That rang ture to me as it should.
“ A Good Man”
You hear people say that. Well, the Class of 1962 just lost one. How many of us knew what we wanted to do when we graduated? I can tell you Gary did. He wanted to go to barber collage; go to work in a shop and later open his own business. That is exactly what he accomplished. He also knew who he wanted for his wife. Gary and I attended a teen club dance when we were 16 years old and that’s where he met Mardee. They have been together ever since. He worried about his friends; cared about people; helped people; help organize class reunions; was involved in his community and when needed, went to clients homes to cut their hair. He was a good Christian man and a good provider. He loves God, family, friends and people. I never heard him swear. I never heard him complain and he never spoke badly of anyone. In the last months, knowing the end was near, Gary made a list of friends and made sure he called them regularly to checked on them to see that they were ok (can you believe that?). In the last days of Gary’s life he held a Celebration of Life at his home so he could personally say good bye. He also called his friends to say goodbye. That was a very special call. He was a strong man and a “Good Man” he will be missed.

Yes John I'm still upright. Glad to see you are too.
By the way did you sell that 53 Ford Coupe to Steve Stein?
I thought I did, but that could just be part of this old age thing.
Hey Penny,
How's it going?
Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday.
Have a great day.
