Leonor DeArmas

I moved to Rhode Island in 1991 after attending Cal State Hayward for two years. I left CA because I met someone who lived out here. That didn't work out but Rhode Island did.
I started attending Rhode Island College in January of 1993 after taking a 1 and 1/2 year break from school, during which I worked in banking. When I went back to school, I changed my major from Accounting to Education. It was the best decision I made since graduating high school. I met my husband, Scott, in 1996 a little before I graduated from RIC and we had a son named Daniel in April of 1997. He's now a big sixth grader and almost 12 which makes me take some deep breaths. It's so profound to reflect how fast time goes by. Soon after we had Daniel we got married (June 1998) and I began teaching for the public school system. Prior to that, I worked with severe/profound youngsters at a private facility. I have been in elementary ed for over 10 years. My daughter, Abby, came along in May of 2004 and she is our dancing angel. My life has been pretty good up to this point. I still visit my folks regularly, who continue to live in good old San Leandro. My next expected visit is this summer.

I used to talk to Mary Wang every once in a while when I was in for a visit. Sadly though, we have lost touch and I haven't spoken to her since my daughter was born. Looking at many of the profiles of my classmates of 1989, I find myself rememebering snippets here and there of different people and times that were spent together. I look forward to possibly reacquainting myself with some of you through this website and possibly at the reunion.
