Janet was a neighbor of mine. She was friends with Katie McCormick. I didn't know her well. She was a little shy in high school but always friendly.

Jan was an accomplished RN on the heart unit at Marin General. She fought a courageous battle with Hodkins Disease for 10 years. She was the most stoic person I have ever known. She died when we were 30 years old. I miss her still.

We all grew up around each other, Janet, Katie McCormick, Rich Bowen and I. Rich is right, Janet was a bit shy, but she, Katie and I did some crazy things when we were younger. She was a wonderful person to have as a friend.

Having lunch with Janet in high school and College of Marin was so much fun. Janet could eat all the junk food she wanted and never gain an ounce. Us girls were very jealous of that fact. She was a sweetie too.
