Carol (Now Going By My Middle name, Colleen) Roth (Jiron)

Hello Dear TLHS Class of 1970! I hope this is the place to put this message so everyone can read it. My husband, Tony and I have thought long and hard and decided to opt out of coming to the reunion, because of Covid. We relocated to San Diego last October and love it here! But the recent escalation in infections has us a little spooked (even though we are vaxxed) and the travel involved is prohibitive right now. I was really looking forward to seeing you all, and am disappointed to say the least. Please know I send blessings and warm wishes to everyone, and have a great time;). My contact info. is on the site - if you head down this way, please give a shout-out! - Colleen (Carol Roth) and Tony Jiron

Leta Edde

Hello to the Class of 1970-Sorry I can't be with you on such a special event. I am a little nervous with this latest variant of COVID. I am a cancer survivor and don't want to take any chances. I currently live in Marin. I have moved into my family home in Northbridge. I love being home. I spent 40 years in Eldorado County teaching. Love it there as well. Many beautiful memories and friends made. My dear friends Julie Rosenthal (Lagier) and Ginger Klemperer (Bacich) are in my life and we are enjoying our special friendship everyday.  Living in Marin has brought me close to family. My parents have passed on...They both lived good lives. I lost my brother to cancer. That was a painful time in my life. He was bigger than life and has been so missed. My sister-in-law lives in Northbridge now and is my neighbor. I get to see my niece, nephew and their children a lot. I consider myself blessed. I am healthy and enjoying my retirement. Teaching today would be hard with this virus. I have seen a lot of the world in my travels and hope to keep doing that in the future. I wish all of you good health and enjoy the reunion. I will be thinking of you...Leta Edde

Greetings 1970 graduates, from the beautiful state of Tennessee. Wish we could be there with y’all to celebrate our 50+1 reunion, but with all this Covid-19 stuff, just don’t feel comfortable traveling that far from home.

Tim and I retired almost 3 years ago and moved to the beautiful Upper Cumberland Plateau in the town of Crossville, TN. What brought us here? Well, our oldest daughter moved to Tennessee 12 years ago and every time we came to visit we fell more in love with the state, also property and taxes are a lot cheaper. We are about half way between Nashville and Knoxville. The last time we came to visit in fall 2018 we bought our house. We got home and I put in for retirement (Tim was already retired) and 4 months later we packed up and headed East. Funny thing is we found out Tim’s 5x great grandfather is buried about an hour north of us in Pall Mall, TN. Been working on our Ancestry family tree. He is buried the the cemetery where Sgt. York is buried. If you don’t know who that is, he was the most decorated army soldier in WW1. There was also a movie made about him starring Gary Cooper. He is Tim’s 2x great uncle.

We are still 2 hours from 2 of our kids, ( yes our son & family moved here a year ago) but that’s a lot closer then CA.  Only have one son who lives in Idaho with his family. We live in a Resort/retirement community in the mountains. We have 12 lakes and 4 18 hole golf courses, tennis and pickle ball club, several swimming pools, restaurants etc. so we can keep as busy as we want to be. They just built a new outdoor stage with amphitheater where we have many local and Nashville bands that play many nights during the week. All free! So even with Covid we are trying to live our best life, when our body’s allow!

Hope this finds you all well and living your best life also. Hope y'all have a great time at the reunion.

Tim & I will celebrate our 50th Anniversary next December. Seems like yesterday we were sitting in the Amphitheater at TL (which is gone now😢) eating lunch.

Blessings,

Becky & Tim Cassidy

Jane Miller (Jones)

Hi fellow classmates, I'm sorry that I'll miss the 50th +1 reunion.  I travel to Marin from Los Angeles to visit/care for my 90/93 year old parents when I feel safe to do so, and I'm trying to limit crowds and other possibilities to bring any bugs or viruses to their house -- still on Loganberry Drive in Marinwood! My two sisters Heidi and Wendy live in Orange County, near me in Monrovia, CA, and my two brothers Michael and Andy live in Healdsburg and Vancouver BC respectivly.

I retired from NASA JPL in 2019 and my hubby Mojo also retired from Dreamworks Animation in 2019 and we celebrated joint retirement by buying a Tesla, and traveling across the country in it, then spent the rest of 2019 traveling and cruising the world. We both love travel, and have been teaching bridge (him) and playing bridge (learning for me), on land and sea. We also continue with our public astronomy programs, which we've conducted since the 1980's, now with the Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers in Monrovia, CA. If you are ever in LA, we do alot of astronomy in dark skies away from LA, public astronomy in town showing moon and planets to our communities, attend a lot of LA Phil, LA Chamber Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony concerts, and also enjoy live Jazz at Catalina, Vibrato and elsewhere. There is so much great music in LA! We also love baseball! And cats! Have fun, and I look forward to seeing pictures of the festivities.  Jane Miller (Jane Houston Jones).

John thank you for your response...I love Northbridge. It's always been a wonderful place to live...

I had a question to ask any of our classmates-Has anyone heard from Steve Torres? He was one of my childhood friends  and I have lost contact with him...Would love to connect...Thanks, Leta Edde

Happy 50th+! Sorry I can't be there to celebrate our high school years. I've been gone since 1972 when I married Rod Jones, class of '67. I left California and traveled around the country for his military career and then settled in Phoenix, Arizona in '87. We've been very blessed to have a second home up in the mountains of Prescott. So we can beat the heat and have loved every minute of it for the past 20 years. I enjoyed reconnecting with a few grads who now live in the Phoenix area. I really enjoyed reading your message Leta Edde. That's great that you're back in Northbridge. When I do get out there with occasional visits to my sister and a few nephews and nieces, I always drive through Northbridge and reminisce about all those fun childhood memories. I look forward to seeing pictures and hearing how the reunion is tonight and tomorrow. Thanks to Lynn Regalia and all those who worked at making this possible for those who could make it.Pam Arnsbarger(Jones)

I am sorry to be missing the 50 + 1; I moved to Wyoming from Lake County (CA) just last year and am still settling in.  I also am a little nervous about Covid and decided to forgo this year's reunion.  I have no doubt there will be lots of fun and reminiscing going on.  Hugs to all.

Kim Colvin (Quinn)

Hi all,

I'm also unable to attend the reunion due to prior commitments.  My husband and I now split our time between Arizona and Lake Tahoe.  We've got the best of both worlds.  I love hearing about Northbridge from Leta Eddy and John Armanini, such wonderful memories growing up in 'Upper Scabo'.
Stay well everyone and enjoy the reunion.  Please post photos, Lynn, as soon as possible.🥰

Agree with Kate that 50 + 1 Reunion was truly outstanding. My wife, Joann and myself have been to 20, 40 and 50 + 1. We both felt this was the most conducive to hanging out and catching up with or meeting new friends! We are very glad to have attended. Also able to see my Mom (94) who is still living independently in Larkspur. Steve and Joann Phillips

if anyone decides to visit Colorado, you are more than welcome to stay at my home, I have one guestroom and another guest suite, ha ha ha ha! You are all welcome and my cell phone is 303 549-5700, I'm much better at responding to text, because I can never hear my phone ringing. I had a fabulous time and I can't think Lynne enough, and all those who helped her make this such a a fun get together. I love reading other peoples posts! I wish we could change our pictures to what we look like now, I think it would bring us closer together. I don't know about you… But my memory is not as good as it used to be, I'm not complaining though!
This was my first reunion for the past 51 years and we look amazingly good! And it was wonderful to stay in a place that was older than I am! The food was so delicious, appetizers… Then appetizers and dinner the next night, and Ron Engel was fabulous and was so sweet by supplying his lovely vintner wine! I am wishing PK Roberts a  fast recovery, It is such a bitch to get older and we should be proud! All the ladies, Mary Melville, Debbie Dunn, Jan Amberg or was it Jan Peterson, Katie Castellucci, or was it Katie McCormick,  Michelle Adolph....I can't get all the names, (and I have to give up)  but you know who you are, ladies you made me feel like one of the group and may I extend my heartfelt blessings and thanks!  I am grateful and I am sorry I can't name you all, cause I'm not doing so good! I do love you all. You all were awesome and a special thanks to Jim Miller and Mike Ditto! Please... I'm not after anyone's husbands, but it's nice to have a man around! Traveling alone… Is full of surprises and a lot of nerve wrecking tension. I have to say thank you for everyone who share their stories and openned their hearts. Looking forward to the 55th, and sending good thoughts to all and once more thank you!

Hello from Sonoma County Wine Country! As a new site administrator I am trying to figure the website functions out but there are many details involved. Lynn mastered it but I only know just enough to be dangerous!  If you notice anything out of whack bring it to my attention. Been trying to remove the 50+1 reunion registration stuff without much luck. Sending all good karma your way.

Debbie: Thanks so much for picking up the role of site administrator. Wish I could be of help, but though I live with a couple of computer wizards I'm hopeless. Perhaps just having to ask for help from my daughter or grandson keeps me that way.  I do love hearing & seeing what classmates are up to! Annie

Jane Miller (Jones)

Thanks Debbie for stepping into some well-loved shoes <3  Since we all spent some time in San Rafael, I thought I'd share that my beloved parents, who many of you knew, both died in the past 10 months - mom Barbara Miller at 92) and (Dad  Dr. Alan Miller at 95) in their beloved Marinwood Eichler home. My sisters and brothers and I sold our family home last month, to someone whose parents also live in "the berries" in Marinwood, and who grew up as we did going to Miller Creek and TLHS. We are so happy our iconic Eichler has a young family to enjoy the dead-end corner lot/house and surrounding open space, wildlife, stars, and especially the birds, after we lived in and loved the house for almost 60 years.

Dad wrote opinion pieces for the Marin IJ for nearly 20 years, and this one about our backyard birds is one of my favorites, https://www.marinij.com/2016/11/23/marin-voice-winter-visitors-bring-back-marin-memories/

My sister Wendy asked the IJ if she could write a column about the loss of our own "Marin Voice" and they loved the idea.  This one refers to our dad's first column, about our beloved Marinwood and lifelong neighbors.

Sorry the links dont convert, if I figure it out I'll fix.  Otherwise shoot me an email.

Good luck Debbie! Nice to hear from Annie and Jane, as well. I finally sold my house call practice in Northern Nevada back in December 2022. Though not fully retired. Working as a Subject Matter Expert for a Medicare Advantage Plan located in California, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada. Just a fancy title for an aging physician with > 30 years experience and knowledge in managed care. My Mom, Mary Ann died one year ago today on hospice at our ranch by Pyramid Lake. In May of 2022 90 + friends and family celebrated her 95th birthday at Gotts in Larkspur. She had a great time and new everyone by name. Take care

Carol (Now Going By My Middle name, Colleen) Roth (Jiron)

Greetings everyone from Silver City, New Mexico! We spent COVID-time in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, then realized we missed having our own place (with home improvement projects and yardwork??). Tony's family has an 1880s homestead next to the Gila Wilderness in Reserve, and our godchildren are in college in Socorro and Las Cruces. We'd been hearing about Silver City for years. So one day we left Cardiff around 5:00 a.m., drove all the way to SC, saw one house and bought it the next day. We've been here 9 months and love it. Population has remained a steady 10,000 or so for decades. Great diversity, all the necessary services (medical, shopping, sightseeing) and people have time to be friendly. We converted from septic to sewer and are currently installing solar. There are views of the mountains from every window and lovely neighbors. Not sure how we got so lucky. But here we are. If you're ever curious about Silver City, email me - ccjiron@yahoo.com. We love visitors! I finally created an author website: ccjiron.com. All blessings to you!
