Mitzi Jackson Perino (TLHS 1968) sent Tom's obituary:
"A memorial service will be held at 11 am Wednesday for Thomas M. Jackson in the Hooper and Weaver Mortuary Grass Valley Chapel. Mr. Jackson died Wednesday at his Penn Valley home at the age of 32. A graduate of Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, he later attended College of Marin. Mr. Jackson was employed by Deats, Inc., of Stockton-Sacramento. He is survived by parents Thomas and Betty Jackson of Penn Valley, sister Meredith Perino of Novato, and grandmother, Ruth Bakke of Grass Valley".
Mitzi's note said Tom is buried in Marysville, CA

Tom was among my best friends. He was a great athlete, and he seemed to appreciate his God-given talent and the wonderful home he was raised in. I completely lost track of him after our 10th reunion.In Pop Warner and freshman football, he was the quarterback, and I was the center. We won a lot of games.

Seems like the trend was for guys to buy old cars. Still is, I guess. Remember that old green Cranbrook you drove? Every time I hear Neil Young's "Heart of Gold," I think of you. Music brought you so much pleasure--Jethro Tull, The Who when we went to Squaw Valley. I even still have a ticket stub from when we went to see The Stones in SF in 1970. Those were some wild times. Ironic that for 34 years I have lived around the corner from your sister, Mitzi, and now your parents live across the street from them. Even though we went our separate ways, somehow we still kept in touch, like old friends. I like the connections. 'Til we meet again, save me a place up there.Katherine (Katie) Castellucci (Regalia)
Tom was a great athelete from the get go. For all of us that can remember playing Little League at Bernard Hoffman, Tom already had a "cannon arm". Remember him breaking the nose of a plate umpire. Upms didn't wear masks in those days. Think Tom was the star pitcher for the "Robins".
During early high school years, we all spent time hanging out at the Wilson household around the corner. That house was like a revolving door with Ken and John. Everyone always welcome.
1968 B -Basketball. Our squad is given a pre game pep talk before a game. We were gathered in the gym room that was technically the gymnastics room behind the main gym. Joe Brigganti, our coach is talking........Tom is so loose and ready to play, he's chewing gum, jumping up and down doing tricks on the trampoline as Coach Joe is giving us final instructions.
Looking back, in a way it's sad that Tom, Coach Joe and Coach Hank Yamagata are all gone.

I remember that Tom was very kind to me in seventh and eighth grade during lunch time games. I also remember out-running him when I was a pulling guard on quarterback throw/options. He was a tremendous quarterback. I am sorry he lost his way.

We moved to Terra Linda when I was in the 4th grade at Bernard Hoffman. Tom welcomed me right off the bat. I really enjoyed playing football with Tom at lunch in seventh and 8th grade. He had me play running back even though I had never played pop warner with him. He was a gifted athlete and generous person. I am so sorry I lost track of him after high school. Rest in peace Tom you are forever in my memories.

I met Tom when I was in 4th grade. We were neighbors. He lived on Elena Circle and I lived on Arias St. We played sports non-stop in our neighborhood growing up. Tom was a great athlete. I loved sports, but was never an athlete. He was really good people. Everyone liked him. I lost track of him after I went into the Army. I just joined this site and am sad to hear that Tom passed away a long time ago.
