Janeve Florence Wilbur passed away at home February 21, 2011 with her loving husband by her side.
She courageously fought cancer for fifteen years, all the while putting the needs of others first. Her love for God's word kept her faith strong throughout her life. She was born on September 15, 1952, the youngest of three daughters, to David and Janet Bailey.
Janeve attended Terra Linda High School and graduated in 1970. She lived and worked in San Francisco, Calif., for several years as a legal secretary, until the Earthquake of 1989 when she decided to relocate to less shaky ground. She moved to Auburn, Calif., to be closer to her parents. It was in Auburn where she met the love of her life, her husband Ken Wilbur. They were married November 9, 1996; when Janeve gained a husband and became the second mother to three young children.
Janeve was a woman of many talents and wore many hats. Bravely taking on the role of "step-mom"; she not only dealt with the good, the bad, and the ugly, she was also an excellent role model and confidant. She was an avid gardener; she spent many hours turning her backyard into a floral sanctuary for all to enjoy. She had the ability to transform an ordinary house into a breath taking home. She gained the well deserved reputation of being a gracious hostess. Music was a large part of her life; she played the cello and spent many long nights listening to records with her husband.
Truly a beautiful Christian lady, she will be missed so very much by all who knew her. Janeve is survived by her husband: Ken, daughters: Sarah Wilbur and Jennifer Paulson (Nicholas), son: Justin Wilbur (Melissa), sisters: Diana Owen (Shane) and Beth Nolen (Rich), nieces: Jenny LaDuca (Sam), Haley Emmett (Tyler), and Julie Owen, nephew: Michael Nolen, and grandchildren: Kenneth, Theodore, and James Wilbur.
A memorial service is planned for April 9, 2011 at Calvary Chapel of Auburn at 1 p.m., with reception to immediately follow.
