David L. Dell'Era Jan. 24, 1952 ~ April 17, 2009 David Louis Dell'Era died suddenly at his home in San Rafael, CA. He was 57. Dave was born at The Cottage Hospital in San Rafael, CA. Beloved son to Letty and Bono Dell'Era of San Rafael, loving brother to Don Dell'Era of Sonoma, Kathy Starr of San Rafael, Juli Dell'Era of Penngrove, devoted Uncle to Darcy Dell'Era of Sonoma, Dustin Dell'Era of Oakley, CA, Sereatha Starr of Rohnert Park and Bono Starr of Highland Park, NJ. A lifelong resident of Marin County, Dave graduated Terra Linda High School in 1970 and has been an admired and valued employee for The County of Marin since 2001. Also known as Dangerous Dave to his friends and family, Dave was a fanatical outdoorsman, demonstrating respect and admiration for all wild life. He was dedicated to the welfare and preservation of the Blacktailed Deer and was a life member of the California Deer Association. A self-read man, Dave was fascinated with history and heritage, acquiring the art and science of reloading his own ammunition. He was a talented musician, playing bass guitar for The Lone Star Ramblers and The Blue Nickel Blues Band. A mechanical genius, Dave could fix just about anything. The love of his life was his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and he was not ashamed to admit that real men loved cats; a quality he inherited from his mother - Dave loved his kitty. Dangerous Dave was a thoughtful and generous man who had the unique ability to use both sides of his brain as well as his heart. He lived his life out loud and on his own terms. His passing leaves a huge void in the collective hearts of family and friends.
