Kathy Shawn Hays Johnson 1948 ~ 2011
Kathy passed away at her home August 21st 2011. She was born August 18th 1948 in Ogden, Utah to Jewel (Julie) M. Landures and the late Norman C. Hays. She is survived by two children, Derek J. Johnson and Holly M. Johnson, her Mother Jewel M. Landures, brothers Kelly D. Hays (Kathy) and Kevin B. Hays (Sandra), one niece, two nephews, one grandchild and one great grandchild. Married James C. Johnson, later divorced, and then married Boyd Jensen who preceded her in death. She received her education from Jordan High School and the University of Utah. While raising her children, Kathy taught piano while being a homemaker. Later worked as General Manager for Reparatory Dance Theater as well as for the American Red Cross. She pursued various artistic talents including piano performance, painting and drawing, as well as cooking, baking and amazing knitting work for family and friends. The last years of her life she struggled with myofascial pain syndrome as well as the various challenges resulting from that. Our family has lost a lovely, lovely lady, and we will miss her dearly. Kathy's wish for cremation has been fulfilled. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 26th 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cottonwood 4th ward chapel located at 5565 S. Neighbor Ln. (1610 East) Holladay, Utah. In lieu of flowers Kathy would be pleased if you would make a donation to the charity of your choice.
