Sherida Lyn Mumford Lee, 62, passed away at Intermountain Medical Center on Friday, February 25, 2011 from aggressive cancer.
Daughter of Gideon and Betty Jo Mumford. She was raised on the family farm in Sandy, Utah along with Ron, Jeff, and Lisa. She graduated from Jordan High School and Brigham Young University.
Sherida taught elementary school for five years prior to her marriage to Terryl Curtis Lee on June 21, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five children: Jared Eugene (Suzy Tuttle), Rebecca Lee, David Boyd (Christie Bowers), Melynn Jorgensen (Terry), and Rachel (Josh Anderson). Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Kaden, Makiah, Zoe, Macy, Kaleb, Logan, Jackson, and Spencer.
She was a gifted musician and composed many songs. She especially loved young children, teaching piano and preschool. She was the primary chorister at the time of her death. She was the neighborhood mom. Sherida was very creative and made hundreds of costumes for school music programs.
Her life was filled with Christ-like love and she was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She spent countless hours serving in many church callings and doing Family History work.
Preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rebecca, and brother, Jeff.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Allendale LDS Chapel, 5425 South Allendale (600 West), Murray, Utah. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale, Utah, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the Church.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
