Matilda "Tillie" Trascilla Brunello

Resident of San Jose

Aug. 15, 1932-Apr. 27, 2012

Tillie Brunello lost her battle with cancer Friday at the age of 79. She was a devoted Sister to Mary Robinson & Aldo & Stephen Brunello. She was a devoted Aunt to 9 nieces & nephews & a Great Aunt to seventeen nieces & nephews. 

Tillie was born in Weed, Ca and grew up in El Dorado County. She attended San Jose State with majors in Physical Ed & Life Sciences in 1953. After earning her Masters degree in Education, Tillie was a PE teacher, dept chairman & an athletic director at Santa Clara HS for 38 years. 

Tillie started playing golf in 1987. She held offices with Employed Girl Golfers, Sunnyvale, Santa Teresa & Santa Clara Women's Golf clubs. In 94' she became the Director of the PWGA. Later she moved up to VP then served a term as President of PWGA in 98'. She later served as President of The Santa Clara County Women's Gold Ass from 00-02. She was also the Captain of the West Valley Golf from 03-04. 

She will be missed by many, but never forgotten. Her service will be at The Villages Clubhouse, 5000 Cribari Lane, San Jose on Mon, May 7th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pacific Women's Golf Ass Junior Golf Program, 3101 Sunset Blvd., Suite 1E Rocklin, CA 95677.
