Jim Heiner

Passed away on 12-25-1999. Survived by wife Jodie Praklet. Several daughters and Step Daughters. Had a stepson and stepgrand children.

He graduated from San Jose State with a Master in music.

In college he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy.  It never stopped him as he defied the odds of the physical sympotoms of the disease.  He taught at Livermore High School for 13 years. The last 30 years he taught at Las Positas College.  He developed music programs including chamber and concert choirs, jazz choirs, musical theater and voice classes.  He also taught theory and music appreciation.

His courage and strength to push past any physicla challenges inspired everyone to be their best.

He was a very good athlete.  In high school he played Varsity Water Polo and Basketball.

He was also the nicest person you could have ever met.

I remember Jim. He was always quick to smile, had kind eyes and a gentle way of communicating with people. So sorry to hear about his passing!--Donna Wierzbowski (Goldsberry)

Tom Bouska

Jim would have turned 80 today!  To say I miss my BEST MAN, friend since 1st grade you bet.  Today we would go out to fine restaurant, have a few drinks adult type and remembered growing up in Santa Clara.  From Fremont Elementary W.A.Wilson Intermediate and Santa Clara High along with San Jose State.
