8000 characters is not nearly enough.
After high school, I was in a band, moved to the land of REM to make it big, became a ridiculous drunk, went to rehab. Through the grace of God, my wife and soulmate, Julie, was with me through the pit and back to the other side.
Life continued, learned how to live with myself, got a job, bought a house, started a family.
In vain search for meaning, started my own construction company, built some houses, additions, etc. Was a good builder, but a lousy businessman. Didn't survive the collapse. Now at Lowe's.
In the meantime, discovered the most wonderful church I've ever known (St. Gregory the Great Episcopal here in Athens) was welcomed into this amazing community and nurtured. Am discovering the reality of God, witnessing the example of Christ and learning to love. I am blessed beyond measure.
My biggest passion outside of my family is The Stable Foundation, which is a non-profit organization I co-founded which is attempting to eradicate homelessness in Athens by providing transitional housing and invitation back into the community, one person/family at a time.
