Laurene Pena Kahn

After graduating from St. Mike's, I attended UNM and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I stayed in Albuquerque and began teaching middle school. I got married in 1998 to Kevin Kahn. Since then we had 2 boys, I got my Master's Degree in Secondary Ed. from UNM, I moved to teaching high school and now I'm a high school librarian. It's amazing how quickly time does pass!

One memory that has stuck with me occurred during PE with Mr. Chavez. The details are kind of hazy, but it involves a field trip to the bowling alley (although we never made it), the St. Mike's van, and a joy ride around the school (thanks to Aaron Peralta) which resulted in running laps around the field until the bell rang. I still remember Elmer's face when he came back outside to find us cruising the parking lot!
