Eloisa Pasquini

After Graded I studied at Faculdade Ibero Americana in São Paulo where I graduated (1976) as a translator (written and oral) and a teacher. I taught ESL for a few years. In 1980 I went back to Graded as an elementary school teacher. I loved my work at Graded and was very happy to teach many of the children of my Graded friends. Heloisa Garcia's daughter, Fernanda, Katie Tognato's daughter Karen, Reggie Regino's daughter, Carla, and many others.In 1987 I left Graded to work as a private tutor and as a simultaneous translator. I translated in conferences in Brazil, USA, Europe and Asia. I now live in Atibaia, SP and work as an ESL teacher and translator. I work mostly with written translation, including books.

I remember our German teacher at Graded, Mr. Westfield. Marty Pepper and Sandy Lachler were also in his class. We did learn, but we also had a lot of fun. Many times we ran away from class when he asked us to go outside to prepare our dialogues in German. Our class was very small so we used to meet in places like the projection room in the auditorium.

I enjoyed being part of the volleyball team. The Braniff meet in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1971 was our greatest challenge. Andrea Moor, Sharon Crane and Mary Stanton were also on the team.

In June 1972 our class went to Salvador, Bahia for the Senior trip. Mr. Sesich was one of the teachers who went with us. I don't think anyone has forgotten our 36 hour bus ride.
