Comments:

After Graded my family moved back to Rio, so I lost contact with the city until 1988. I double majored in Economics and Latin American Studies at Tulane (along with Peter Gillespie, Glen Harrison,Tom and Jack Meyer, Marty Pepper, Melinda Parmer, David Sage and my brother Chuck).
I worked for American Express for 30 years and two weeks, living in Rio, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota, Panama, San Juan and Miami.
Moved back to New Orleans in 2007 and am in the process of beginning my second career by doing volunteer work with the Louisiana State Museum and Tulane in preparation to return for my Masters in Latin American Studies in August. There has to be a fun way to make money with the combination of history and tourism between New Orleans and Latin America.
So far only Marty Pepper and Nan Walker have visited me here, lets see who else takes the challenge, it is a great city to visit.

School Story:

Many good memories:
Started in kindergarten at the old school with Dona Olga. My 1st classmate memory is of Jamie Lynch singing Old Macdonald leaning against the door, and when D. Olga opened it, he fell down. 2nd is celebrating my 1st grade birthday 5/18 with Katie Tognato 5/20, and still remembering her every year. 3rd grade Mrs. Szeghetti making me eat a plate of rice very day I hated the food so much. Still don't like rice today. Fighting Judo at Ono with Mark McDonnel in the summer with no airconditioning and faking it by pretending one of us had flipped the other and remaining in a hold on the ground to avoid fighting in the heat - and ending our school careers by having to share the same seat on the stage our graduation night, there was one chair short. Being friends with Cheryl Coon at both EA and Graded. Competing for the golf team with the Wymans, Paul Gruppo, Conrad Derr and we still are very good friends. Spending lots of time with Sharon Crane at the pool, and then Sunday nights waiting for our parents to finish drinking before taking us home. The long school bus rides with Albert Reuben and Cress Hannbarger between Morumbi and Av. Paulista, and then the Belem trip with Albert, 6 weeks of fun, and then organizing and negotiating the senior trip to Bahia with our Belem contacts. Getting caught with Cathy Chance in the auditorium by Mr Matson, the new principal his first month on the job, we became good friends after. And the great friendship with Marty Pepper pre and post Rio and into the our years at Tulane living in the same house and supporting each other so far away from our families. Thanks to our class rep. Elosia Pasquini, from 2nd grade on keeping us involved and organizing the 12/07 lunch in Sao Paulo for 8 of us from the class of '72.
