Vivian Hamermesz Schlesinger

USP 1973-77 (Biology), UNICAMP 1978-1982 (M.S. Animal Physiology), taught Biology and Math at American School in Campinas (where we lived for 25 years) mostly from 1983-2008; brief stint teaching at British schools and Graded in SP 2002-2005; now teaching at I.L. Peretz. I have been married for 32 years to Claudio, the same guy I dated for 8 years since 9th grade. My son, living in SP, is a neurologist; he is married, has a son (Eli), and will soon have a daughter, and my daughter is a Internal Medicine Practitioner, in Israel. She has a beautiful boy named Noam. Aside from raising them (or being raised by them) and working, I have publicly assumed my identity as a poet, have had a few poems receive awards, and a few published in two different anthologies, and a bilingual collection of my poems (I write in English and translate into Portuguese) will now be published. The launching will be on March 15, 2011, in Livraria da Vila on Fradique Coutinho, in SP, and of course, all are invited. I have fallen in love with running since 1994, particularly marathons (Blumenau, São Paulo, Rio, Buenos Aires, Chicago, New York, Paris, ...)
