Jan Huseby Huseby

I wrote writer for occupation, and I have done a lot of writing (the AP, Time Magazine, The University of California, Berkeley) but right now I am working at Berkeley High School part time as the volunteer coordinator. It is a total kick of a job. Because volunteers are needed everywhere I get to do all sorts of things (registration, tours, reception, college essays) and work with really great people. I put out a book which can be checked out on Amazon.com--The Berkeley Book of College Essays. In it you will find all four of my kids essays.

I started at Graded with Dona Olga in kindergarten and was one of the 13 in our class who received our diploma from Dona Olga. (There were four years in the middle where I lived in New Jersey and Recife.) So my memories go way back to the old school, to the move to the new school, Mike the Janitor, Mr. Colby and our great drama department, the fabulous Thanksgiving fashion show (which didn't Murray organize?).

I loved our senior trip to Buenos Aires on the bus and back by on Yappy Yu(?). My mom was a chaperon on the trip and she remembers having to smuggle Paulo Levi across the Uruguyan border and then the Argentinian border because he departed without a passport. Now that was a senior trip with flair!
