In Memory

Kim Lauinger

KIM LAUINGER Passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 My Tribute to you, Kim Well Kim, here we are after 39 years you gave us; you are finally free! You endured so very much pain and suffering to make a difference and to give all those who love you so much just a little more time to have you around us. I know we are selfish wanting you to stay with us longer, but you gave it your best shot and now it is your time. You did leave your mark, with all the unselfish time and effort you put into making everyone else's life just a tad better. I don't recall ever hearing you complain even when you had just finished counting and rolling thousands of dollars of pennies and could hardly keep your eyes open, or all the envelopes you stuffed, and all those baby food labels you counted, all for charity and all made a difference in this world to help someone else who is less fortunate than us. Your sense of humor and your laugh will stay with us forever. Yes, and how about the teasing you gave everyone when you would win scratch and win tickets or at the casino or ever those little bets you made with your Dad? The wings you were born with have matured now and we must let you go onto your just rewards. You were brought into this world for a reason and with the help of your Mom and Dad and family, you certainly outdid yourself. The other day, I thought, I sure wish you were my guardian angel, but guess what, I can almost feel it; I am sure once your welcoming party is over, there you will be getting everything and everyone in order, and you will be everyone's Guardian Angel and I would be willing to make you a wager on that! Kim, we will all miss you very much. Thanks for the memories, I will cherish them the rest of my life. Margie

I was away the last couple of weeks and am truly shocked and saddened at Kim's death. Like so many others have said, he brought sunshine to any gathering. He sold tickets for CNIB but more than that, he made each of us on staff feel wonderful. So sorry for your loss.

To the Lauinger family, my sincere condolences in the loss of your son/brother. When I think of Kim I have many fond memories of his time as a student at MRCI. There was never a challenge that he would not at least try and most times overcome. He was an amazing young man and he will be missed.

Pat and family
will always remember kim's visits to the day program at parkridge and all the items he had for sale. I have an eskimo doll i bought from him and will remember all the times we rolled pennies and the times he always asked how are you? Also the time when i asked him if pat was his mother and he asked how i knew her and he said oh yes the life enrichment program.
All the best to you and your family at this time

Pat, Bill & family;
No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. May all the fond memories you have of Kim help you through this difficult time. I recall Kim's smiley face, laugh and his ability to always light up the room & fill it with love. I imagine Kim & Grandpa Miller are catching up and watching over you all. Robbin and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother and son.
I have fond memories of "Charlie" while spending time at the Lauinger's home in our elementary/highschool days. Charlie was a happy, sweet guy who had a smile for all. I remember the teasing and joking that went on back and forth between Robbin and Charlie, it was great! Kim always had a smile and a "hello" while passing in the halls at
Mount Royal.
I know how special Charlie was to Robbin and the family and how much he was loved.
I know he will be missed dearly as he was a wonderful gem of a guy!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved him during this difficult time.

As I read of Kim's passing while at work I am wiping away a stream of tears. Growing up knowing Kim and his family .. watching Kim ride his bike everywhere he went, his smile and laughter will always forever be fond memories. My heart goes out to the family (ies) of Kim.

Even though I have only known Kim for a couple of years, I have been so blessed by his loving spirit and kindness to others. When Kim laughed, his whole body laughed and that is the picture that keeps playing in my mind as I think of him. He will be greatly missed! My deepest sympathy is with his family and everyone who loved him.
