I had very high expectations for this weekend and they were all fulfilled! It was so great to have three events so we could actually have more than one conversation with many people! Even with three events, I still didn't want the weekend to end! I probably should have ended it sooner than I did (right Pam, Shawna, Dee Ann, Wendy, Grant, Michael and Ferrell?), but no regrets! We are a great class and I couldn't have had a better time! Natalie, Lori, Terrance, Mona-anyone else that had a part in planning and executing this weekend, you did an awesome job! I volunteered to help with the 25th reunion planning and I only hope we can live up to your standards!

That was a great job over the weekend!! Simply, a well thought out and executed plan. Also, really great paying respect to those who have passed, very nice.

I would like to know the other alumni website of Tandi's, I think?? Trying to get others to check it out. It used to be on this home page.

Anyhoo, It's back to the grind! Try not to be strangers...Jeremy

Fabulous time! I, too, volunteered to help with the 25th as Todd reminded me Sunday at lunch. So Jenifer JP, look forward to hearing from me often over the coming years. Thanks for being such great dance partners Pam, Grant and Michael. Ferrel, you saved me a ride two nights in a row -thanks. The purple hooter was great but you still owe me an oatmeal cookie and I promise to handle it better than some;) Dee and Shawna, thanks for being such good bunk mates and pals. Matthew, hold that pose. Heather, I hope you make it to Columbia soon. Sabrina thanks for the tip for my cousin about the application. Chris S., hope to see you and your lovely bride in the fair city of Willy Wood soon. Jim L., how come we never saw moves like that from you in school? I thought I was watching the dance scene in Pulp Fiction for a minute there. Alan G. and Adam H., what lucky men, your wives are beautiful and gracious ladies. Tonise, Angela, Natasha, Robin, & Jennifer P: I must say we Flag girls have aged incredibly well. Julie R. and Dusty (and spouses) you make me yearn for mud puppies: "Now what we're gonna did here..." A special mention to Upward Bound: you still got it baby! Oh, and you are a pretty good crooner too. Patrick: thanks for doing what you do best: work a crowd and keep things lively! Natalie, Terrance, and Lori a super big THANKS. You three threw quite a bash. Look forward to more memories. And to all who have incriminating photos of me: how much do you want?

I just put up a bunch of pictures from this weekend on my profile. Sorry, Wendy, there are a few of you! Nothing incriminating, though! I didn't have my camera during those moments! ;)

Well, I was waiting on Natalie for the go ahead, but I think it best to go ahead and get the word out (not that she would mind). I started an account on tinyalbum.com (http://www.tinyalbum.com)

sign in using username: wfhs88 (memorable)
and password: knights (again, easy to remember)

There is only one album, right now, ashley Johnson and I have posted pictures to it. The album is titled 20 Year Reunion and is password protected, but the password is also knights. Now you have administrative access to the account. you can upload, download (original size), organize, delete (don't do it) pictures if you want.

My battery started to run outon Saturday night and i thought, wouldn't it be nice to have access to everybody's pictures? This is the best way i could think of. There might be better, but this will do for now. Please upload ALL of your pictures. Individuals can crop/fix them as they want later.

It was SOOOOOOO good seeing all of you this weekend. I tried to get around to express that and am sorry if you were missed, but i really do mean it. i don't know if all the people who didn't have a good experience in HS or those that aren't happy now just didn't show up, but it really appeared that everyone that was there was really happy. It really made me want to be able to go back and re-live the HS days. I think that's a good way to leave a reunion. Thank you to Natalie, Lori, Terrance, Mona, and all the others that made it possible to have such a good time this weekend. You all should do this for a living (and many of you do). I didn't volunteer for the next one, but, to those who did, consider this my notice that I'm willing to help.

Please take the time to uploaad your pictures and enjoy the ones that are already up and those that will go up in the next few days (please, please, please) or beyond. Take care, all, and stay happy and healthy. We're in Charlotte, if you're ever in need of company or a place to hang out. Looking forward to sharing, through pictures, our most recent memories.
Adam

By the way, the site (tinyalbum.com) restricts the upload process to 8 MB at a time (you can upliad as much as you need, just only 5-10 pictures at a time). Anything beyond that, it just forgets about, so if you try to upload 20 pictures at once, the site will upload the first 8 MB (5-10 pictures) and then forget about the rest...BUT will not tell you that it did not get the last 15-20 pictures!!! So be careful to upload pictures 5-10 at a time. It's not that inconvenient. Thanks and I look forward to seeing all of your pictures. Hopefully, you are enjoying the ones that I and Ashley have already uploaded. Take care Class of '88. Proud of you all!

I second Adam's thoughts about the reunion (and Wendy's, Jenifer's, Jeremy's, Valerie's, Grant's, Ashley's, Alan's....). It was a great time!! Natalie, Lori, Mona, Terrence, and everyone else who helped them -- YOU ROCK!! Thank you from all of us!!! For those of you who could not make it, you were missed....and mark your calendar for the 25th, 'cause it's already in the works.

Adam, the album website for pictures is a great idea. Thanks for doing that.

I didn't volunteer either on Saturday, but I hereby promise to continue my classmate sleuthing. Are my fellow sleuths still with me?

It was really wonderful to see everyone,
Heather

Jenifer Johnson (Paul)

I'm still with you, Heather! Like Alan said a few months ago, we will leave no classmate behind! So even if they don't want to party with us in person, let's try to get more people to register on this website so we can expand the reconnections! I want to continue the feeling we all had over the weekend and not limit it to just those events! I kept telling people, and have for years, that I didn't really like high school because of all the pettiness that went with it, but all that has gone away and what remains is the bond we all share of those experiences.

Adam, that was a great idea to post all of the pictures from the reunion in one place. Thank you for thinking of that!
On a personal note, thank you to everyone for such a great experience. It shattered all expectations of what I thought the experience would be. I was thrilled to see everyone after all these years and meet your lovely spouses.
For those of you whos names might have slipped my mind in the beginning of the night, I appologize. I suffer from out-of-sight, out-of-mind syndrome!! However, I started placing the names with memorable faces later in the evening. After a while, it was just like we were back at the castle again. What a simple time in our lives!?!
I promise to bring my partner Todd with me in the future. Thanks all for being so inquisitive about my special someone!
Thank you hosts! Great job!! I look forward to many great memories to come with everyone in futures years!!!

First, many thanks to ‘Jefer R’ – if it weren’t for you taking the time to email me, it’s quite possible no one would have ever found me and I would have missed out on the shindig. You were missed horribly – please put it on the calendar for 5 years - we had so much fun, we can’t wait 10!

It was absolutely, positively wonderful to see all of you – my, my, I do believe we’ve grown up. And you guys are beautiful successes – you are all amazing!! (I love Emerson’s definition below - we certainly laughed and played with enthusiasm this weekend, and some of you even sung!). For those of you that were unable to attend, we certainly hope you can make it next time to share in the festivities. It was a fun trip down memory lane, and an absolute pleasure making new ones.

I had such a great time, I had one word that described it – “Ouch”. Still not sure if it was Chris Sailing’s or Grant Sims’ idea to have that last shot of tequila. Did that come BEFORE or AFTER the tattoos ladies?? And thanks to the RiverStreet crew for putting up with me, obviously, I love live music!

Many, many thx to the fabulous organizers, you guys did an amazing job!! Natalie, special appreciation to your hubby for finding this website engine – not only are we addicted, but we are grateful to him for helping make these connections possible. And thanks Adam for the website info…pix coming soon.

I’ll be in touch! With many blessings and best wishes, xoxo

“The definition of success--To laugh much; to win respect of intelligent persons and the affections of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give one's self; to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition.; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm, and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--this is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to NATALIE, LORI AND TERRANCE! I haven't had that much fun probably since.....High School. It was wonderful to see everyone and everyone looked (as Patrick would say)AMAZING! I don't know if I can wait 5 years. Yes, I can because I'm still sleeping off the effects of this weekend. Also, thank you Valarie for the trip down memory lane.

As fate has it - I went to the beach on Monday with my Dad and son and met up with Bill Carlton walking down the beach (No shock he had a girl on each arm). He was planning to make a surprise appearance at the Reunion, but had bad weather in Italy for his connection and did not get to town until Monday morning. Being a first class travelor - the airline rewarded him handsomely for his inconvienence and compensated him with a nice check. He was planning to use it on taking in a dinner at "The Mansion" that evening and promised to pass along a critique of the cook. He was really sad he missed everyone but promised he would make it next time. He mentioned that he particularly missed the beauties of WFHS - I did not understand this, but he said you would know who you are.

Thank you Natalie, Lori and Terrance. You all put on a GREAT reunion. It was much better than I expected. It was so great seeing everyone and meeting your lovely spouses. I think everyone would agree that we did not want it to end. I think we must have thought we were young again, as we closed down Texas Road House on Friday night and closed down River Street on Saturday. I am still suffering from sleep deprivation. For everyone that could not make it or chose not to attend, I hope that you will mark your calenders for our 25th. You will not regret it. I look forward to seeing everyone at our 25th.

I must echo everyone's sentiments...the reunion was great and again, thank you to all who worked so hard. Also, thank you to all the spouses of the organizers...I saw Natalie put her husband to work when he should have been boogeying on the dance floor!

It was great to see everyone and see how well everyone is doing. It seems we are all successful in whatever we have chosen. Those that couldn't make it were missed and should mark their calendars for the 25th. I too, volunteered to help organize and hope by then, everyone has been located.

Outstanding reunion!! Thank you Mona, Natalie and all who organized and executed this event. It was great to catch up with old (well, young, that is) classmates and I can't wait until the next one. It was great to remember how un-clickish our class was compared to other schools. Next time I'll plan to take more time off as this year's airlines flights were like Murphy's law on sterroids. Thanks to all for being yourselves, and true Savannahians.

Cheers,
Mike F.

Another thank you to all who put the reunion together. I did not get to say hello to all so HELLO to those I missed. I had a lot of fun, and it's not too often I can get my husband on the dance floor.

I was helping my mom go through some stuff from her attic this weekend and found some more treasures I wish I'd had at the reunion! I updated my profile and put two pages of predictions for some members of our class for the year 2010. I hope you laugh as much as I did!

A big "don't mention it" to Pam of course! So glad you were able to make plans at the last minute. Wish I could have been there too! Everyone looks great and looked like they had a great time. Hope to see you all in 5 years. :)

Jen

ps Pam, love the quote. :)

Sorry I missed it. Looks like you guys had soooo much fun. I'm going to make it my business to see you all in 5 years.

To sum it up, wow! Reunions can be so many things to so many people. I feel like we had just enough time to get an awful lot of conversations started... I mean, how do sum up the past twenty years in 5-10 minute conversations? I wanted to just stop and chat for a while with old friends, but then I would see someone else that I also wanted to talk to. There are so many of you that I wish I could have just sat around with and talked for hours... then it was over. I hope everyone sees that the hard work trying to track down old friends was worth it.
No classmate left behind is more than a catchy phrase. I called out one guys name as I saw him standing off to himself at the rockin' main event Saturday night and tears welled-up in his eyes as he said, "You remembered who "I" am?". Some of us are confidently living our lives and others are still hurting from feeling left out, or not noticed. I would have never imagined that response, but he and I started a friendship twenty years too late on that Saturday night that I thank God for. Tomorrow is promised to no man. Reunions are a good thing.
A special thank you to all who befriended my wife and made her feel like part of our WFHS family. She had very low expectations of the reunion and walked away from the weekend with her mind blown away and wanting more of it. She's heard me talk about most of you off and on for almost 18 years and now she understands that it wasn't just a bunch of hype. I believe the kind of friendships we had there were rare and they seemed to pick up exactly where they had left off (only with a bit more maturity).
Let's all put forth an extra effort to keep tracking folks down and get the word out so that everyone we went to school with will have an opportunity to enjoy what we all enjoyed.
Thanks for the love c/o 88!
Alan

And to those to whom the organizing torch has been passed, YOU'VE GOT MIGHTY BIG SHOES TO FILL! Maybe if we could plan the next one on a traditionally 3-day weekend, it might help to get more folks to the family reunion.... just a thought for whoever may now be in charge of such decisions.
