4) Where is the most interesting place you've been and why?

Haiti; It has a quiet peace about it.
- Dereka Pullins (Sears)
I visited the Bahamas.
- Vonetta Robertson (Scott)
Puerto Viarta Mexico for my Honeymoon
- Christopher Roper
Italy because my husband and I took a trip where we started in Milan and went all the way down to Rome and over to the Isle of Capri. We took backpacks with us and stayed and ate at places recommended by the "Let's Go Italy" book. We did not make any reservations in advance. It was a really neat trip.
- Jennifer Bendetti (Rees)
The most interesting (and beautiful) place I've visited is Jamaica. Not because of the food or its people either (althought they're great too), but mostly because what you wouldn't expect. There was a small revolution going on there during my visit, and Jamaicans of all ages (even children) were holding AK47's. We visited a small village and the tour guide said "please put your cameras down, do not record. You will be shot in the head if you do." I have all of this on camera. And yes, i did put the camcorder down. I also learned some interesting facts about Jamaicans to. The average Jamaican does not believe in mortgages. They take years to build their home because they buy everything in cash and will buy materials bit by bit until the home is finished. So a person can start builidng their home in their 20's, but not live in it until their 30's or 40's.

Living in Russia only 5 years after the fall of communism was pretty amazing. I love my friends there who are going through so much turmoil.
- Trisha Marshall (Snow)
Sapelo Island, GA is the most interesting place I’ve been because i’ve never visited a remote barrier island that is only accessible by boat or ferry where it’s inhabitants are direct descendants of African enslaved people. It is one of the last intact island-based Gullah-Geechee communities in the US. As a native of Savannah, it was interesting to learn of their culture and how it relates to the culture in the African-American community. There are ruins that are still there from the early 1600s.
- Candice Hooker (Nash)
