I attended Clarion University and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education. I began teaching History at McDowell Intermediate High School, the 9th & 10 Grade Building of McDowell High School, in 1998. In 2000, I began coaching the McDowell Speech & Debate Team. I am very proud of the accomplishments of the kids. They have competed at invitationals all over the country, including at Harvard University and Princeton University. I am most proud of the seven McDowell Academic All-Americans, and my 2006 N.C.F.L. National Champion in Original Oratory. Additionally, two McDowell kids have won Pennsylvania High School Speech League State Championships, one at 2007 States in Informative Speaking and another in Impromptu Speaking at the most recent State Championships. So I have spent an immense amount of time traveling, planning, and preparing for competitions. Anyone that wants to help we compete in Pittsburgh fairly often. The compete in both debate and dramatic performance based events.
